This event is sponsored by Level Seven, a forum where we discuss current issues from a Christian perspective. For purposes of this event, we are pleased to partner with the Institute for Business Ethics. (The IBE website is at www.ibe.org.uk).

The panel is composed of:

  • A Former Enron executive who will discuss what happened at Enron, raising issues such as: How can a corporate culture deteriorate? Were there any warning signals the Enron employees should have detected?

  • Jan Babiak, Managing Partner-Regulatory and Public Policy, for Ernst & Young Northern Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (NEMIA), is responsible for leading and representing the regulatory and public policy interest of Ernst & Young in 38 countries. This includes board level coordination with government offices, regulatory bodies, national professional bodies and other stakeholders such as investors and academics. She is serves on several boards and was named the CBI’s First Woman of Technology in 2005. She will address questions such as: How do you instil an ethics culture in an organisation? How do you make ethical decisions and ensure that those around you follow your lead?

  • Philippa Foster Back OBE, is the Director of the Institute for Business Ethics. A highly respected City figure with 25 years of business experience, most recently as Group Treasurer of Thorn EMI, she will look toward the future and address issues such as: What can be done to ensure ethics policies lead to higher standards of business behaviour? What is the role of the individual?
